Bob Graham Center for Public Service
Presented by the Dial Center in partnership with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office and the Bob Graham Center for Public Service, Civil Discourse in Education Today featured Dr. John Rose, associate director of the Civil Discourse Project at Duke University’s Kenan Institute for Ethics, who discussed his experiences teaching about civil discourse and strategies we can all use to create an atmosphere of openness and trust.
UF Health Cancer Center
The Dial Center has partnered with the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) Executive Leadership Team since 2019 to assist in their preparation for presentations leading up to a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Site Visit. Together, we provided personalized individual and group coaching in public speaking to aid UFHCC leadership in their efforts towards accreditation, and at their year-end celebration in 2022, the Dial Center was recognized with a 2020 Golden Gator Award to recognize “distinguished performance made to the Cancer Center.”
TEDXUF
The Dial Center provides faculty mentorship for TEDxUF speakers. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event, is a program created by TED to bring communities together by sharing TED-like experiences locally. At a TEDx event, hand-picked live speakers combine with TED Talk videos to spark deep discussions and human connection.
